Last updated: July 2025. Welcome to LactoCheck, operated by iq cook. By downloading, installing, or using this app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Not a Medical App
LactoCheck is a lifestyle, informational, and dietary tracking tool. It is NOT a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or professional health recommendations. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making dietary or health decisions, especially if you experience persistent or severe symptoms. The app should never replace professional medical guidance.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use LactoCheck. If you are under 18, you may use the app only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. By using the app, you confirm that you meet these age requirements.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to notify us of any unauthorized use. You may not share your account with others or use another person’s account.
4. Premium Subscription & Billing
A paid Premium subscription unlocks additional features such as unlimited scans, full history, advanced insights, and trigger food analysis. Billing is handled securely by Google Play Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically (monthly or yearly) until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account settings or through Google Play Billing. Fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. Pricing is displayed in the app before purchase.
5. Subscriptions, Auto-Renewal & Cancellation
Premium subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your account will be charged through your app store or Google Play Billing. You can manage and cancel subscriptions at any time. Upon cancellation, you retain Premium access until the end of the current paid period. No partial refunds are issued for unused portions of a subscription, except where required by law.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: • Misuse, reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the app’s source code. • Use the app for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose. • Interfere with or disrupt the app’s servers or services. • Enter false or misleading data intentionally. • Attempt to bypass scan limits or payment features. Violations may result in account suspension without notice.
7. User Content & Data
You retain full ownership of the data you enter (diary entries, symptoms, preferences). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process this data solely to provide and improve the app’s features. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you submit.
8. AI-Generated Insights
LactoCheck may use artificial intelligence to analyze ingredients, estimate lactose content, and generate dietary insights. AI outputs are supportive, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and should not be relied upon as the sole source of truth. They do not constitute medical advice. You assume full responsibility for decisions made based on AI-generated content.
9. Third-Party Data
Product and nutritional information is sourced from third parties, primarily Open Food Facts, a public, community-maintained database. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data. Always verify product labels and ingredient lists directly before consuming any product. We are not liable for inaccuracies in third-party data.
10. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected. Product and lactose data may be incomplete or inaccurate.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LactoCheck, iq cook, and its authors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of or inability to use the app, including but not limited to health-related decisions, dietary choices, or reliance on app data. Your use is at your own risk.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violations of these Terms or to protect the service. You may delete your account and stop using the app at any time from Settings. Upon termination, your right to use the app ends immediately.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the app or on our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage periodic review.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable international and local laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction, without prejudice to your mandatory consumer rights.
